EJ Autism Foundation In The News:

Autism Awareness

East Islip --- Councilman John Edwards and Councilwoman Trish Bergin Weichbrodt attended the EJ Autism Foundation’s Black Tie and Hoodie function at the Timber Point Country Club in Great River last month. The EJ Autism Foundation was started by Bea Huste-Petersen, the mother of two autistic sons., to both increase awareness about autism and raise funds to support programs that work with children with autism.

Petersen’s organization arranges the annual 4-mile Jigsaw Run and the Walk for Autism while also participating ion the Great South Bay Triathlon and ING New York City Marathon, among other fund raising efforts.

Councilman Edwards and Councilwoman Trish Bergin Weichbrodt recognized Mrs. Huste-Petersen (center) with a citation from the town board for her tireless work with the foundation.
